For many years FORECLOSURE was a dirty word spoken in hushed whispers in private. Nowadays foreclosure is just a sad word that has become virtually commonplace in Michigan, it’s in every newspaper and in every headline. There are many reasons why homes are lost, but possibly the biggest is the economy in a declining real estate market; home values are declining, sometimes to even less than the owners owe.

Almost everyone knows someone in foreclosure, and they’re not bad people - they’re your neighbors and friends and family members. But the reality is foreclosures in Michigan are a daily fact and banks need someone to assist in selling them. While it’s a shame good folks have to lose their homes, someone has to sell them. I’m one of those agents. My clients are banks - and I sell foreclosed properties. Hopefully I will always do this job with the greatest empathy and respect.
