Betty Meischen is a 7th generation Texan born and raised in Austin County which is about 30 miles west of Houston. Betty is completely familiar with the real estate of this lovely area of Texas and also its surrounding counties, Washington, Colorado, Waller, Fayette and Fort Bend. In 1822 Stephen F. Austin brought a group of colonists to this area. Among them were James & Thomas Bell, two brothers who left their home in Florida to brave the wilderness and fight in the Texas Revolution to make Texas a country of its own. Betty descends from James Bell and is an avid historian. She graduated cum laude from the University of Texas and worked in the family business AJ Smith Furniture and Floor Co.
