My passion for houses began as a little girl when I was enthralled with old Victorians, Castles and especially anything abandoned. I have been known in my younger years to check all doors and windows on vacant property in order to gain access to "oohs and ahhs". I outgrew those tendancies as soon as I was old enough to understand the term "trespassing", but never gave up my love for buildings. In fact, my objects of affection soon grew to include almost anything that had, or originally would have had four walls and a roof.

In my adult years I owned several properties and at the urging of a close friend, took real estate classes so at the very least I could indulge myself more easily, at least that was his chant. But soon I recognized that it was the perfect fit for my desire to be helpful and indulge my housing whimsy. This also fit the phrase "find something you love to do and a career can be born of it." And that is how Andrea J. Melant, Realtor was born.
