Carter is a native Virginian with deep roots in Central Virginia. Though born and raised in Western Henrico, he grew up spending weekends sailing out of Jackson Creek in Deltaville or fishing at Trice's Lake in Cumberland. Carter has boated or fished most of Virginia. Carter's experience in rennovating and redeveloping properties began when he was a youngster. Coming from a family of Real Estate Brokers and Investors, he bought his first property at Age 19 with the help of his family. Well before that point, Carter was learning about managing and rennovating properties from his Grandfather, Bob Ritchie. Ever since, Carter has been involved with Commercial and Residential Investment projects. Prior to his career in real estate, Carter worked as an executive in the field of Receivables Management and Payment Systems starting and running several successful Richmond based businesses. Later, as an adjunct professor at J. Sargeant Reynolds, he enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experience through teaching at The Center for Entrepreneurial Development.
